Louis Braille Bicentenary 1809 – 2009 PDF Print E-mail
 

 

The 200-year birthday of Louis Braille, the inventor of tactile reading for the blind, is being celebrated world-wide this year.  An elected committee driving the Institute for the Blinds’ festivities have a long and exciting list of activities planned for the year to commemorate the genius of Louis Braille.  Activities range from Braille reading and writing competitions to exhibitions, entertainment, promotions, a Supper in the Dark and a Gala evening.
