Got some free time on your hands? Do something special for a visually impaired person

At the Institute for the Blind we need your time and support for the elderly and the blind. Offer your love and care as a volunteer and you could make the world of difference to someone affected by visual impairment.
You can get involved in all sorts of activities to help and time for each task varies.
- Read from the Bible, a magazine or the newspaper to a person with a visual impairment
- Take someone who needs assistance or is in a wheelchair for a walk
- Present a Bible study session
- Help a someone from the Institute with their shopping – E.g. Clothes or toiletries
- Escort a person with a visual impairment to the doctor; dentist or bank
- There is always a need for volunteers to visit people at the Institute for the Blind who have no family
- Visit someone from the Institute for the Blind on their birthday – possibly take them out for a coffee
- Become an escort for an outing or help with driving and transport
